10 Questions with @Ditas_Lou

1. Can you please tell us a few words about yourself, where are you from.

My name is Lourdes de la Serna, I am from San Sebastián, the Basque country in the North of Spain. I have a Branding agency with my husband, called inesfera and in this last year what we have done the most has been Streamings for companies.

2.What is your photography story, how did you start? How did you get where you are now?

I think that from a very young age I remember having a camera in my hands, I have always taken photos and I have been passionate about the art of photography.

3. What’s your favourite gear to use (camera, lens, film)?

My favorite camera is a Ricoh 500G, it belonged to my husband’s grandparents and due to the years and being poorly sealed, the light that enters it produces light leaks in my photos,stamp of my photographic identity.I consider myself a photographer of light imperfections.Lately I have discovered the Kodak ultra max 400 and I am passionate about the grain and the tones of the photographs.

4. What do you enjoy shooting the most? And Why?

I love shooting landscapes, retro architecture and children in movement, everyday actions, I am colored and sunny days.I have been self-taught with analog photography, although I have read a lot about it, I have never taken any course.

5.How do you educate yourself to take better photos?

I look at many magazines, an artist that I have as a reference and I buy books both on photos and on analog photography technique.

6.Have you ever doubted yourself? And what helped you to overcome that?

At the moment I just doubt which photo to upload to Instagram.

7.What is the most rewarding part of being a photographer for you?

To know that one day when I am very old someone will see in my photos how my days were around here.

8. Among your works, which one is your favourite? Tell us the story behind it.

I have many favorite photos but one of the last is in a water lake from this past September is a wooden ladder that inspires me with positivity and indeed I believe that that photo has given me luck for a problem that had dragged on for a year and a half.

9. What gives you inspiration?

I am inspired by a day with blue skies, a beautiful building, an empty road, some children playing, an abandoned gas station, a roadside motel, La Luz bonita inspires me.

10. Exactly what it is you want to say with your photographs?

My way of looking at the world in color.
